in the airplane, the woman sitting next to me had both arms in casts. she reminded me of my friend kathy who was suffering after a car accident. when the snack of nuts and juice arrived, i considered offering to feed the woman next to me, but it seemed too intimate a service to offer to a stranger. in spite of such a consideration, i　decided to help her eat, and she accepted my kindness. the experience was fantastic, and she and i grew close in a short time. by the end of the five­hour trip, my heart was fully alive. i was very glad with my courage. love always flows beyond human borders and dissolves the fears that keep us separate. when i give love to another, i feed my own soul.
