그 다음이 해석이 이상헤요.. public square라는게 진짜 공공장소가 아니라 비유적으로 쓰인 것 같은데. 문법적으로 the public square the gentler tenor of yesteryear라는 게 말이 되나요? 동사가 있는 것도 아니고... 뒤에 when 부터는 yesteryear 설명해주는 말인데.. 즉 저는 the public square 랑 the gentler tenor of yesteryear의 관계가 가장 궁금합니다.
