제가 질문드리는 문장은 아래 두 문장입니다.

whatever organism (that) they bite or sting로 관계대명사가 생략된 것인지요?
그들은 물거나 쏘는 생명체는 무엇이나~ 하고 해석하면 되나요?

2. poisonous animals usually secrete toxins through their skin so that whatever creature bites or touches them is poisoned.

밑줄 친 부분이 so that 이하의 주어라는 것, is poisoned라는 동사 앞의 명사절이라는 것은 알겠고
그들을 물거나 건드리는 생명체는 무엇이나~ 하고 해석하면 되는 것 같은데
1번 문장과 2번 문장에서 whatever 이하의 생김새가 너무 다르네요.쉽게 구분하는 방법, 그리고 정확한 해석 부탁드립니다!
