안녕하세요 텝스 문법문제에 이런 문장이있었습니다

almost 18% of the respondents surveyed reported that they had acquired infections while being hospitalized or during a medical procedure

틀린부분을 고쳐서 오류가 없는문장인데요
여기서 while being hospitalized 라고 했는데 being 을 써도되고 생략해도되는 건가요?
