the “location” problem can be explained simply by saying that there are particular regions and constituencies in which a donkey could be elected to parliament, providing the animal was wearing the correct color sash.
a voter who does not wish to be governed by a donkey might as well tear up his ballot.
the only response to offer is that it is precisely because of systemic flaws in all democracies, that there still remains the necessity for good people to take to the streets.
it is also for consideration that because, in common with other elements of the human condition, the struggle to achieve “democracy” is more spiritually rewarding than the actual realization.
