A small town in Oklahoma had a pasture and for many years a cow had grazed in that field. Every morning when the cow wanted a drink, it headed toward a tank of water that stood outside the local water company. The tank was always filled. One day, a big storm came. Water flooded the valley, including the pasture where the cow lived. The cow would then have to go through a lot of effort to get to the water tank. Determined to get its morning drink as it always did, the cow walked through the mud. The cow got stuck in the mud a couple of times, but it didn’ stop. After much effort, it finally reached the water tank. After taking a long drink, it started walking back through inches of water to drier ground. It was silly of the cow to go through all of that, wasn’ it? Going through all that trouble when it could have just lowered its head and gotten a drink anywhere. However, that just goes to show how powerful ____________ can be.
